Josh + Emily's Sunken Gardens Wedding
These two FSU lovebirds had a garnet and gold inspired Sunken Gardens wedding in St. Petersburg, FL. Being in Florida we know that the weather is very unpredictable and the day unexpectedly started with a storm. But as we rode from the hotel to the venue, the clouds separated and we got a glimpse of the beautiful sun. It's pretty amazing how it happened!
Their day was packed full of personal touches, family heirlooms, happy tears and a TON of laughter! We are just so happy with how these images came out, here are some of our favs!
-Leo and Brittany
Emily's dress was her Grandmother's that she had altered. Such a timeless and beautiful dress!
What do you love most about each other?
Josh: Emily has great compassion for others and she is always trying to think of the most moral or thoughtful thing to do for others.
Emily: No matter what, he is always doing everything in his power to make everyone laugh, especially me. Sometimes I'm like "you have to know you look ridiculous" but he doesn't care is someone is laughing.
Why did you choose your wedding date?
Honest answer? We loved our venue and that was the time they had available! HAHA! It wasn't until we met with our florist 6 months later that we realized it was the Saturday after Valentine's Day. Aren't we romantic?
This was one of our personal favorite moments of the day! When Emily's Grandmother saw her in her dress for the first time. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room.
What was the most memorable part of the day for each of you?
Josh: Would it be too cliche to say when I first saw Emily walking down the aisle? Haha! But seriously when our song started playing for the first time before I walked out I realized this was the real deal... and started crying.
Emily: Oh my gosh it was all completely perfect! If I had to pick one thing though, it was Josh's garter removal. I make fun of him all the time for his dancing because he can't clap to a beat, then to see him doing basically a strip tease off rhythm in front of everyone we know, it was one for the books, Haha!
Their first dance song was "Hold you in my Arms" Ray Lamontagne
Do you have any advice for engaged couples?
Yeah, it was the best advice that someone gave us: no one remembers the tablecloths. Meaning the details are just details. Everyone is there to see you both and don't let the little things ruin the joy of your day.
